I Moved! And I am Back with Fabulous Finds for my New Space :)

Hey Guys!! So glad to be back! I have more time on my hands now to really invest in my blog and my channel and I am extremely for the direction of my projects moving forward! Since this blog is all about lifestyle, I have decided to highlight some of the pieces I found for my new space and share the great deals I got.

I noticed that I ended up having WAY more "Stuff" than I ever thought I did. I think we tend to live in unnecessary excess (at least that is what I find true of myself) so moving was very positive for me. I had no choice but to de-clutter and that was exactly what I needed. There is something healing about purging. Just getting back to basics, blessing someone else with the stuff that you don't need, and moving forward. I managed to fit all my belongings into my SUV (which was quite a task) and I made a 9 hour journey by myself that I am proud of.

I couldn't be happier with my new location and although this move feels like I have been pushed COMPLETELY out of my comfort zone, my mindset has been one of gratefulness and acceptance. I am learning so much about myself and I find that the decision making for my life is now actually, Mine. I plan on learning from every experience, enjoying myself, and trusting in God. I know that He has not brought me this far in life just to let me fall.

I will be popping in to show you some awesome pieces and new discoveries on my journey. The major theme you will see here is STORAGE! I needed somewhere to put my stuff and hide it away. I dont like looking at clutter, so finding awesome looking furniture to hide my "stuff" in was a priority. There has to be some sort of functionality for me to even consider a piece or else it is just wasted space.

This was one of the first Items I got for my space. I went to Target with a completely different design Idea for the space, but then I saw this on sale for $125.00 and I had to have it. I actually had my eye on a different color but this was the only one on sale. I am however glad I went with this because it ended up setting the entire mood of the space.

 As you can see, I have Baskets underneath and I store my cosmetics in categories like face products, , Body care, Samples, Lotions, Body Sprays, Nail Care and Hair Accessories.

 In this picture I just wanted to give you a different angle of the furniture. I love the style, I love the color and the thing I love the most is really the fact that It is a multipurpose item. I feel like I can easily use this in a dinning room area to store nice plates or serve food on or use it as chic mini bar area. I fell in love.

On the top I really wanted to keep it simple. I got the vases and flowers from Walmart! Ended up being very cost effective. I got the tray from Kmart and figured it would be perfect for putting all my perfumes. What do you think??

I have plenty more where that came from and I am excited to share :)

Birchbox April 2013!!

This month's birch box was about women's health. I find that the eye roll on, hair elixr, and blemish serum fit under that category (I guess?) All the items listed below. I am really excited about the 10 free women's health magazines that I will be getting. I love that magazine and I will be more than happy to receive them. The value of the subscription pretty much makes up the entire value of the box. I also like when I receive a makeup item and in this case, an eyeshadow.  The perfume is very strong so I am not sure if I will be using it too often. All in all, i got some decent samples. Looking forward to next month's box :)

Birchbox March 2013

I am a little late for posting what I got in this month's box but here you go! I was actually pretty pleased with this box. LOVING the blueberry shave cream because I smell like blueberries for hours after!! Love the make eyeshadow and primer as well. As usual, can't wait to see next month's :).

Birchbox February 2013

The time is here again! Just showing you what got this time. I was satisfied with this month's samples AND sizes. I got a Twist band Headband which will come in handy this summer when It comes to styling my natural hair. I like the fact that they are very gentle on the hair. I also got a Skin & Co Sicilian Body Gel which smells great!! I am however still hooked on the Kiehl's body gel so this was a temporary treat. I also got a Decent size of the Lancome Eye makeup remover. I have used this before and it is good, but I usually prefer to remove my eye makeup without oil. I will still use it. I got a caramel chocolate treat by Ghiradelli which was soo good but soo bad LOL..... YOLO right? Anyway, my favourite part of this box was the Color Club nail polish. I am a nail polish addict (if you don't know already) and I was very pleased that I got a color that I do not own in my collection. Overall, I definately got my $10.00 worth in this box. Looking forward to next month!! :)

One year Natural!!

It is hard to believe that it has been one year since I chopped all my hair off! I did a video on the details of my chop so you can watch that if you want to know more... but I will fill this post with lots of pictures! Hope you like them!

Brazil Butt Lift Mania!!! Day 1

Birchbox January 2013

This month's post will be short. It is a little late because I had some technical difficulties with my samples this month but Birchbox was able to rectify the situation. In short, I got a hair oil, lash enhancing serum, a facial moisturizer, a perfume, and a Blush sample! This month's box was OK.... I am looking forward to what next month has in store.

Would I have done the same thing? Dealing with Rudeness and Stereotypes

So in 2013 I have resolved to lead a less passive life and speak up for myself. Not that I am a pushover, I just found myself being non confrontational and usually the one who wants to just keep the peace. Anyway, I was having a conversation with someone who I felt kept prying into my personal business for a particular answer which I Clearly tried to avoid answering. Sorry to say it, but it was an older African man. I get very annoyed sometimes with the fact that they feel like you HAVE to do what they say and treat them like gods. I am not saying I want to be rude-- Sometimes, some people need to just take a seat!  After about the 10th time, he said "when someone asks you something it is the polite thing to answer the question." I in turn replied "if someone has made it clear that what you are asking is personal he does not wish to answer the question, wouldn't it be polite for you to drop the question and stop prying?" Needless to say he changed the subject after that. I felt so empowered because the last time we had a conversation he told me that I should keep my opinions to myself because no man will want to marry me because I speak my mind....BUT that is for a totally different blog post.

Where was I? I was feeling empowered. The next day I walk into a subway which I frequent and it happens to be owned by Asians. I only bring their "race" up because of the stereotype that has to do with how Asians run their businesses. The guy ahead of me ordered his sandwich and they were past the meat and Cheese phase. All his veggies were all set and the owner put a whole lot of mayo all over the sandwich. He told her that he did not want mayo on his sandwich and she proceeds to use the spatula to attempt to "scrape" the mayo off the bread, meat, and lettuce. I was actually disgusted watching her do that and I could see the disgust on the man's face. He got really angry and walked away... and told them to "keep your **** sandwich." To think that she wasn't willing to make another one because of the tiny loss she would have had to swallow for a 6 inch sub was appalling to me. I certainly would not have eaten that sandwich. The new 2013 me would have told her to make me another one. I totally get his frustration.

Again Rudeness is not the goal here. My point is, sometimes we just have to speak up and take a stand... instead of allowing people and their mess to walk all over us!

I got Inspired!

Sooo.... I'm an "artist." I put that in quotations because I have not yet reached a point of  "artistic acceptance" so to speak. I'm sure there must be an artist out there who can Identify with me. I actually get inspired from certain things and I go on a painting/drawing overload. And then I go through dry times where nothing comes to me!  I have decided to share my latest completed project with you... It actually went to an old friend. What do you think?
